Advanced Technology Laser
The decision to have cataracts removed is made when a patient begins to experience diminished vision, along with negative symptoms, that affect the patients’ daily life. Using state-of-the-art surgical equipment, revolutionary lens options, and substantial expertise, cataract surgery will be performed. During this very common and successful outpatient procedure, the cataract (clouded lens) is removed and replaced with an artificial, intraocular lens.
Advances In Cataract Surgery
Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery
The femtosecond laser for laser assisted cataract surgery is one of the newest advancements in cataract surgery. The computer controlled laser is able to perform many parts of the cataract procedure with a degree of precision and accuracy that exceeds what the human hand of a surgeon can do. It allows for a more predictable lens placement and superior refractive outcome. The Eye Surgery Center of Hinsdale was one of the first centers in the Chicagoland area to use the femtosecond laser.
